launching a Marketing Site in 5 Days

Organisation
Orion Labs
Role
Design engineer
Duration
1 Week
Tools & Technologies
Framer
Figma
Custom CSS
Problem
Orion had a funding announcement in 5 days and no marketing site. Just a Figma file with rough brand guidelines, a product that hadn't been fully named yet, and a deadline that couldn't move for any reason.

My role
Everything — brand refinement, copy writing, visual design, Framer build, custom animations, CMS setup, domain connection, and deployment. Solo from brief to live in 5 days.
Outcome
Site live in 5 days, featured in 3 design newsletters the week of launch
How i solved it
Day 1 — story before pixels.I didn't open Framer on day one. I refined the brand, locked the color system, wrote every line of copy, and mapped the full page architecture. No visual work until the narrative was completely clear.
If the story isn't right, the design doesn't matter. Fix the words first.
Days 2 and 3 — design and build simultaneously. For marketing sites on a tight deadline I design directly in Framer. There's no Figma-to-Framer translation step, no drift between what was designed and what ships. What you see in the canvas is exactly what goes live.
Days 4 and 5 — interactions, mobile, and launch. Scroll animations were the last thing added — not the first. Every animation had to earn its place by making the content clearer or the experience more memorable. Nothing decorative. Nothing that slowed the page down.

What shipped
A fully animated Framer site — 6 sections, custom scroll interactions, CMS-powered updates section, mobile responsive at every breakpoint, SEO configured, Open Graph previews set, and live on a custom domain.
5 days. One person. No handoff. Just a brief and a deadline.
The site was picked up by 3 design newsletters the week of launch and became one of the references Orion used in their investor deck to show design quality.
What worked
Locking copy and structure before any design — saved at least two rounds of visual rework. Designing directly in Framer — the speed advantage on a 5 day deadline was massive. Keeping animations purposeful and minimal — fast load time and no motion sickness complaints.
What I'd Do Differently
Set up analytics from day one — lost first-day traffic data by adding it after launch. Build a small component library even for a single-page site — some mobile inconsistency crept in. Brief the client on CMS editing before launch — had to do a walkthrough call the day after.

The old dashboard had 11 years of visual debt. I stripped it back, rebuilt every component in React, and shipped a version that cut user drop-off by 40%.
